It is situated between Plaza del Liceo, which is named, and Pozo Amarillo Street, near the Plaza Mayor.

It involves the rehabilitation of the theater with a long tradition within the city. A theater that recovers the original trace the theater of the nineteenth century, the area built on the ruins of the convent of San Antonio del Real, the eighteenth century, where it stood the cloister and the sacristy of the church belonging to the convent.

The Italian theater is the third in capacity of Castile and Leon, with a modern envelope stage.
